Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley, Washington
Aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels, the 14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, juicy red wine that is very fruit-forward on the nose and features aromas of dark cherry, black currant, coffee and subtle hints of spice. These flavors are complemented by a touch of spicy oak and emphasized by soft medium tannins. 14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon has a nice vanilla and oaky flavor and leaves no bitterness in the mouth.
You can enjoy this wine by itself or have it with red meats, especially Nyama Choma and hearty stews. It goes well too with lamb, pork, poultry and even game meat. It tastes great with appetizers and side dishes like tomato-basil bruschetta and eggplant parmesan.
If you’re new to American wine, 14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon is a very approachable, everyday wine that gives a great and lasting experience of the ripeness of fruit in Washington State wines.

Description
About Cabernet Sauvignon Grape
A cross-breed of a red Cabernet Franc grape plant and a white Sauvignon Blanc grape plant produced what is now the most popular grape among American wine drinkers: Cabernet Sauvignon. While it originated from Bordeaux, France, Cabernet Sauvignon has become a quintessential international variety that is planted everywhere where wine is made. Used as a straight varietal and as the major grape in many blends, it’s known for its thick, durable skin and has high levels of tannins, which enhances wine age-ability. When oaked, it produces beautiful flavors of vanilla, butter and spices, resulting in wine that is dark in color, dry, full-bodied, with a medium level of acidity and that drinks well with many foods. Cabernet Sauvignon is often used to blend with other grapes, such as Merlot, and created the world’s most famous and highly coveted wine blend: the Bordeaux blend.
About 14 Hands
14 Hands celebrates the spirit of small wild horses that once freely roamed the hills of eastern Washington State. These horses measuring a scant 14 hands high (a “hand” being equivalent to a man’s palm width and how horses were measured then), would travel down from the hills every day to drink from the mighty Columbia River and graze upon the luscious waist high grasses along the riverbank, and then retreat back up into the hills to cool off at night. Strong and tenacious, these little horses became known for their endurance and were revered around the world. Washington wines are fruit-forward, easily enjoyable with any meal or on any occasion. Bringing this bottle of wine home or to a party is more than bringing just a wine – it’s a delicious wine with a unique story that’s sure to spark up a memorable conversation.
About Columbia Valley

Wairimu –
I was looking to advance my red wine taste profile, this cabernet gives me exactly that. Subtly sophisticated, elegant wine. I want to cozy up with a glass in hand and a good book.
