Description
Cabernet Sauvignon Grape Variety
Much of the world’s Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in France, followed closely by Chile and then the United States. Cabernet Sauvignon holds the distinction of being the most planted wine grape in the world. This grape variety has flavors of black currant, cedar, herb and plum.
Columbia Crest
In 1983, Columbia Crest opened its doors in the heart of Washington State’s Horse Heaven Hills. Nestled alongside the Columbia River in eastern Washington, Columbia Crest is the Northwest’s largest winery and one of the world’s most highly acclaimed.
Columbia Valley
This region is mostly dry with less precipitation due to the rain shadow effect from the surrounding Cascade Mountain range. Vineyards are 100% drip irrigation. Vines are planted on south-facing slopes that provide excellent sun exposure for grape ripening, and protection from cold airflow during the winter months.
